Kayleigh Oakes
My name is Kayleigh Oakes (24)
For as long as I can remember, I have been horse crazy.
As a child, I begged my parents endlessly to let me start riding. After years of resistance, they finally gave in when I was twelve.
At fifteen, I began training with Ian Van Schalkwyk, and that’s when my riding and competitive career truly took off!
I am incredibly grateful for my current string of horses: Winter Axe, Saratoga Star Wars, and Pewter Sky.
My greatest achievement to date was jumping my first open class (1.30m).
My ambition has always been to compete at World Cup level one day. I am constantly striving to better myself as a rider while continuing to enjoy my horses and the sport I love.
I am also a passionate racing enthusiast with a deep love for Thoroughbreds and remain actively involved in the racing industry.
I’m excited to be part of the Odds n Jods Team and to continue pursuing my equestrian dreams.

Amber Botes
My name is Amber Botes, and I’m 15 years old, I've been riding since I was 3.
I've always wanted to ride horses, and fortunately, my parents are very supportive. I rode at a riding school till I was about 10 years old, then I moved to First for Horses and in the beginning of 2025 I moved to Lloyd's yard in PE and have been having a blast! Everyone is so supportive, and I just have the best barn backing me 500%.
I’m from Port Elizabeth, and I bring up and sell horses and ponies. I'm also a competitive Open Junior Rider.
I currently compete in the Open JNR classes, as well as jumping in the JNR 1.10m and 1.20m classes.
